Happily Ever Afters Guaranteed
Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. She started reading traditional historical romances when she was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until she picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that her interest in romance novels became renewed.
But somewhere along the way, her tastes shifted. While she still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, she began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. And once she picked up her first, she became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, she knew she wanted to write her own.
Felice lives in New York City with her husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of her own. Her day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. She practices law but daydreams of a time when she can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.

We have a special Interview from The Breakfast Club guys ~ Enjoy!!
Alpha Book Club welcome’s Nick & Julian, Zach & Sam, and Marcus & Tyler – we are thrilled to get the chance to talk to you all! After we read your stories (my what juicy stories those were) there were some questions we were just dying to ask, so get ready – as we won’t hold back!!
I am going to break it up by stories, so Nick and Julian for your story Beyond The Surface here we go!
ABC: Nick, I know that you and Julian are warm, giving, and loving people. Since you wanted a “normal life,” do you see adopting a child together or maybe becoming foster parents in the future?
Nick: I can’t say right now our own kids are in our future,(smiles at Julian) but we might consider foster care and we still visit the burn unit weekly to read and talk with the kids.
ABC: That is a really good thing you both do bringing joy to the kids who are dealing with such a traumatic and life changing event.
ABC: Julian, what gave you the courage to risk your heart again with Nick?
Julian: Even after all the time had passed, I couldn’t forget him once I saw him again. And he was so sad. Nick should never be sad-he has so much love to give.
ABC: We agree, Nick should never be sad. So Nick, if you had it all to do again, would you have stuck it out with Julian back in high school, or do you feel that you both needed the time to grow as individuals for the relationship to work?
Nick: I hate the years we were apart and I hate the fact that I hurt him so badly. But I honestly think I’m a stronger person now. Maybe almost losing everything in 9/11 made me understand that.
ABC: Yes, I know as well as you, so many were affected and are still affected by 9/11; and I can see how living through that changed your perspective on important things in life and priorities. Julian, you seem like such a strong determined man. What gave you the strength to keep on pushing for your dreams after so many obstacles and setbacks?
Julian: Never let the bastards get you down. That’s been my motto since day one. In my industry there is always someone ready to not only step into your shoes but take them from you. If I couldn’t have Nick then I’d have the best damn career possible. (Julian takes Nick’s hand) Now I’m lucky because I get to have both.
ABC: Thank you both for answering those questions, some touched on some pretty sensitive subjects. Okay, all of them were pretty personal, but we appreciate it.
Julian: Phew, that it? Now we get to watch the other guys squirm! Nick: That’s what I am talking about!! (both laugh)
ABC: Well, Zach & Sam, I am ready for you guys! Your story Betting on Forever, was one where we got to watch both Of you overcome insecurities and past trauma’s and now readers want to know more about you!
Zach: (pushes his glasses up) Oh boy Sam are we ready for this? Sam: Bring it on, we can go for a canolli after! (laughs)
ABC: Zach, as a young gay man who just faced this issue. What would you say to young gay men or women who are afraid to let their parents know that they are gay?
Zach: I think their generation grew up with it being discussed more openly. But I understand why kids are afraid; I have a wonderful relationship with my mom and I still was afraid. Because it is the scariest thing ever. Sometimes parents can surprise you. And if they aren’t supportive, find a relative who might be or an organization. You need someone to talk to. People are listening and there to help.
ABC: I agree Zach, times are slowly changing but I think it is still something that is very private to talk about and then to worry about being rejected. I am not sure it will ever be considered “easy”. Speaking of your mom, Zach – how do you think your relationship with your mom has changed since coming out and sharing your life with Sam?
Zach: (He and Sam look at each other) Well it is different. We have a story coming out on Valentine’s Day that explains more, so you might want to read that first.
ABC: Yes, the new book is definitely is something that everyone should read! So Sam, how happy are you that Zach brought your mom up from Florida?
Sam: Well I wasn’t at first but in hindsight I’m glad he did. We get along so much better now and its nice to have a relationship with her.
ABC: That is great and we are happy for you! Sam, how lucky do you feel to have captured the heart of Zach?
Sam: I am the luckiest guy. Look at him; he’s perfect.
(Zach blushes and pushes up his glasses)
ABC: Ahh, it is so easy to see that you two love each other! Which brings me to my next subject, Kids? Are you guys going to adopt? Surrogate?
Zach: (smiles) Maybeee. Sam: Wow, you really aren’t holding back! (laughs)
ABC: Okay, let’s go back to the beginning – think back please and tell me – Zach, when you had to leave Atlantic City and were not able to get a message to Sam what was going through your mind?
Zach: That I just walked out on the best thing to ever happen to me, but there was nothing I could do. (grabs Sam’s hand)
ABC: Zach, that had to feel awful you were literally pulled in two different directions. Sam, how did you feel when you knew Zach wasn’t coming as you were waiting at the bar?
Sam: That I was duped and this was why I knew I shouldn’t have bothered coming that weekend.
ABC: Did you really think that Zach didn’t feel what you were feeling at the time?
Sam: I did. I thought he was a player-Look, he’s younger, gorgeous and rich. What would he want with me?
Zach: (interrupts) You’re being stupid. You’re amazing and I’m so lucky to have you. I love you. (the two share an intense look and squeeze each others hand)
ABC: Zach if it weren’t for the bet would you still have hooked up with Sam in Atlanta City?
Zach: I would like to think so , but I’m not sure I’d have the nerve. So I owe Nick and Marcus.
(The entire room laughs as Nick and Marcus jibe Zach about how good their idea’s are)
ABC: Zach, one more question. One of our reviewers, Mollien, grew up in Brooklyn and she wants to know what school you went to.. she envisions you are Brooklyn Tech.
Zach: Um, Sorry Mollien but I went to Stuyvesant, in the city.
ABC: Okay Sam and Zach, that’s all we have for you two at the moment! See Sam, you survived and I bet Zach will take you to get a canolli after this is done! Next we have Marcus and Tyler our main guys from Second to None, are you two ready?
Marcus: The always save the best for last and we are always ready! (Marcus and Tyler laugh, Sam rolls his eyes, Zach shakes his head, and Nick and Julian simply smirk)
ABC: Well, Marcus lets start with you then you are lucky you don’t have a glass jaw. Why do you think people keep hitting you? Maybe you should start taking self-defense classes.
Marcus: I don’t know why!! I’m a nice guy….so misunderstood.
(Tyler snorts with laughter)
ABC: Wow, okay.. Tyler, you must be something truly special to change Marcus’ ways. You thought that your niece was the only family that you had left. How does it feel to know that not only do you have the love and support of Marcus, but also all the guys of the breakfast club? Lillie is going to be so spoiled by her extended Uncles.
Tyler: Everyone knows that Lillie isn’t allowed to be spoiled..RIGHT, Marcus?? She has to learn things come for doing chores or that she has to wait for special occasions. But the support of the guys goes way beyond what I ever expected to have, they are my family.
ABC: That’s right, Marcus you don’t want to spoil her too badly. While we are the subject of kids, do you guys think you will have more kids? Lillie Will need someone to keep her company and grow up with, what do you think?
Marcus: Please. I’m still getting used to one. Adorable as Lillie is I can’t imagine how people have more. Really, I don’t understand overpopulation.
Tyler: Maybe one day. right now I want to make Lillie feel as secure as possible with the two of us.
ABC: What advice would you give any “instant parents” such as the role you two were put into .. Tyler when you took on as Lillie’s primary parent and Marcus as you became a role model in her life – these are big changes for both of you.. what would you say to someone who is just starting out going through what you both went through?
Tyler: Be there for them, and love them, unconditionally. Let them know you’re not going anywhere no matter what.
Marcus: Listen to them. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for and they see things we don’t always notice. And words matter.
ABC: Marcus, you have changed so much since we first met. Do you think you will ever change your mind about marriage?
Marcus: I don’t know what marriage can give me that I don’t already have. Julian: How about commitment, security, expression of your love, legality .. just to name a few, Marcus. Zach: Oh, Julian we just got our boy to admit love was real – give him time, he will get there. Tyler: I always say, never say never – but we are happy right now just as we are (smiles at Marcus)
ABC: Tyler, you have so much love in you. How hard was it for you to finally trust that Marcus had no ulterior motives when he moved you and Lillie in? You do realize that by doing so you probably did more for him then he did for you?
Tyler: I don’t know about that. I think we both got more than we ever thought possible. And I had zero trust in him, but at every turn he proved me wrong , and I was never so happy to be wrong in my life.
ABC: I know we were happy too! So Tyler, tell us did you ever think you would tame the notorious playboy Marcus? How does it feel knowing you have what every other man has wanted and that you have seen a side of him nobody else ever has?
Tyler: (smiles a wicked grin) Who says I’ve tamed him? It’s just that he’s mine now and no one gets to ever have him again. And I’m damn lucky.
ABC: With that comment and grin, we think it’s time to say good-bye for now and let you all carry on with your days! We here at Alpha Book Club thank you all for stopping by and we can’t wait to read more about your lives in the future, hopefully Felice will continue to tell your stories!
Marcus: Never Say Never, right babe (grins at Tyler) Tyler: Right Marcus! (snickers)
All the Guys: Bye everyone!!
