A killer . . . that’s what I am.
It’s what I do.
It’s what I live for.
I’m no longer the Preston Hale everyone knew. I left that life and the people in it a long time ago the second I made my first kill. I wasn’t going to give in, but when I heard the screams there was no going back.
It triggered the pain, the need.
I knew what I had to do, and I did it well. But I never expected for Emma Turner – the only link to my past – to come back into my life.
She triggers a different emotion inside me, something I hadn’t ever felt.
It’s not a want to kill . . . but a need to CLAIM.
Trigger by L.P. Dover was a great 5 star read.
Emma is working as a PA and she is making tons of money for doing practically nothing. Glen tells her he will be retiring and she will be working for his son, Wade. Glen want’s her to meet Wade and a family friend, she is shocked when she see’s the friend. Could it really be him?
Preston left eight years ago without a trace. He had a calling and an urge that he needed to take care of. He was finally ready to work with his father and the Circle of Justice. When he see’s Emma sitting with Glen and Wade he acts like he doesn’t know her. What is she doing here?
Emma is hurt that he acts like he doesn’t know who she is. They were close friends to the point that Emma was falling in love with him. How could he treat her like this? She finally get’s Preston to talk to her but he’s cold and short with her. We can’t do this. If you’re smart, you’ll stay the hell away from me.
Eventually Emma breaks the wall down and get’s Preston to open up to her and boy the heat between these two was off the charts hot, hot, hot. The sex scenes were panty melting.
There is so much more to this great read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was next. And the twists, secrets and connections that are revealed, wow. The secondary characters were great. The brothers really sounded hot, and I can’t wait to read more about them. Needless to say Emma and Preston do get a HEA amd I hope that we will see more from these two also. L.P. Dover does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I loved it and I look forward to reading more from this series.
