Jonah Steel is knee deep into trying to solve the mystery surrounding his family and his brother’s abduction, and the arrival of his best friend has complicated the situation…although not as much as his infatuation with his brother’s therapist, Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The quiet humility of the blond beauty has him enthralled, and he burns for her as he never has for any woman.
Melanie Carmichael is intelligent and driven, yet filled with regret. She has fallen in love with gorgeous Jonah Steel, but fears she may never be able to tell him. The demons from her past have come for her…and she may not get out alive.
Burn was a great 5 star read.
This is the fifth book in the Steel Brothers series.
We continue with Jonah and Melanie’s relationship among other things.
After a steamy night with Jonah, Melanie sneaks out and goes home. Shortly after getting home she is kidnapped. This is where she had a lot of strength and realized that she loved Jonah and hoped she would be able to tell him. She eventually get’s away and goes for help.
Jonah was hurt when he woke up and found Melanie gone. He ends up ignoring a call from Melanie that he will later realize could be a life changer for him.
Something seems off about Melanie’s silence so he goes in search of her and finds her apartment door with police tape across it. He eventually gets a call from Melanie and he rushes to her side at the hospital.
Needless to say things get much more interesting. Not only for Mel and Joe but for everyone else as well. Joe so badly wants to show Melanie his darker side of his desires but he is afraid to show her thinking she will run away. I do have to say that I had LOL moments whenever Joe and Melanie were out by his pool, when you read Burn you will know what I’m talking about. The sex scenes were very hot and steamy. I can only hope these two will get their crap together and realize what they have before it’s too late. All I can say is there is a heck of a cliffhanger and now I am left thinking WTF just happened. It can’t end there, I need more.
Will Joe figure out the mystery behind the men who abducted his brother? Will Joe and Melanie get their HEA? Helen Hardt has once again pulled me into her world and left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what’s coming up next.
