Ryder Daniels and Jason Mallory seem to have it all but even the most loving marriage takes work. Ryder’s past leads him to remain silent yet resentful in the face of conflict while Jason strives to prove he can take care of his family without Ryder’s wealth, even if it costs him precious time with his husband and daughter.
When a devastating illness leaves them shaken and helpless, Ryder is forced to face the one person he never thought to see again with a life or death request that even he isn’t sure will be granted, but his decisions have far-reaching consequences. Believing he and Ryder have no secrets, Jason is distraught to discover otherwise, revealing yet another crack in their once-perfect relationship.
Adrift and uncertain, both struggle to hold onto a love previously thought unshakeable. A forbidden past is exposed, shocking Ryder to the core, but it means little without Jason by his side. Marriage is a partnership and both men must learn that only by working through their pain and heartbreak together can they achieve a lifetime of love
I was excited when I found out that book 2 was coming after I read Rescued from Felice. In this story we get to see more of Ryder and Jason. I really enjoyed the first book in their story and I loved this one too. Jason and Ryder had their hard times in book 1 so I was hoping for smooth sailing in this story but Oh No! Felice had to draw me in from the first chapter. Jason was working so hard to protect and take care of his new family that he couldn’t see how Ryder was hurting. Jason wanted to provide for his family and not have to rely on Ryder’s money. He was working so much that he didn’t get to spend time with Ryder and their daughter Gemma. It took an illness for Jason to slow down and enjoy what he has with Ryder but of course that comes issues that they need to work through.
Ryder has all he ever wanted. He has the family that loves him. He keeps a lot inside when it comes to Jason, he wants him to slow down and enjoy the life that they made with their daughter. When illness hits his family, all Ryder wants to do is make it better. He knows he has to confront his past and he feels he has to do it himself.
I really couldn’t put my kindle down once I started this story. My heart broke for the pain Jason and Ryder go through to protect and love each other and their family. It was so heart warming to see how Jason’s and Ryder’s families rally for them to get them through this time.
I know better than the think Felice would give u all heart and flowers but I was so invested in this story that I wanted to yell at Ryder and Jason to just talk to each other. Gemma is a great character, she is what holds the family together when she gets sick. I felt for Ryder who is holding out hope that his mother would accept him and Jason. He didnt know why she couldnt just love her son and then he finds out. I really didnt see this twist coming. Family drama at its best. In the end we get our HEA that Jason, Ryder and Gemma both deserve. This is a must read from Felice.
