Ezra Greene has made a pretty decent life for himself. He has a nice apartment and spends his days doing the one thing he’s always loved—creating art. Despite being somewhat of a grumpy recluse, he’s even made a few loyal friends. When he takes a side job painting a mural at a local holistic center, he can’t help being curious about a certain friendly and self-assured yoga instructor, even if he doesn’t buy into any of that Zen crap. His holier-than-thou family already tried fitting him inside a box, and he swore he’d never be molded into anybody’s belief system again.
For Daevonte Randall, adulthood has worked out pretty well. He’s close to his parents and lives with an awesome roommate. He’s content with weekend hookups, teaching yoga, and taking college courses. What he doesn’t expect is to be so intrigued by the brooding and reserved painter he’s been tasked to stay after hours with at the center. Something fascinates him about Ezra, even after Daevonte’s attempts at flirting gets him friend-zoned on the spot.
As weeks pass, Ezra and Dae get to know each other, and soon their friendship catches fire. But Ezra’s been burned pretty badly before so trust and intimacy has to be earned. Daevonte feels up to the task, but it proves difficult as Ezra continues to keep his emotions in check. Dae’s only willing to wait so long, and when they’re dealt a surprising blow, Ezra needs to decide if love is worth the risk, that is…if it’s not too late.
YEAH!!! We finally get to Ezra’s story. I have been looking forward to reading his story since Touch the Sky. Ezra is the quite type but you just know there is so much more to his story. Now we get to hear that story and I loved the way these 2 ladies wrote it.
Dae is a great character. He is so Zen with his yoga and likes to live life to the fullest while he is still young. While Ezra is painting a mural at the studio Dae is there to keep him company. Dae flirts non-stop and I loved it. I was laughing at some of the innuendo’s that came out of his mouth. We also get to see Ezra relax in Dae’s presence. He is relaxed and find himself opening up to Dae. Ezra is a demi-sexual and to tell the truth I had no idea what that was until I read this book. Ezra needs to have feelings for the person he is intimate with. He was hurt many years ago in college and hasnt let anyone in since. I love the chemistry between Ezra and Dae. They were great together.
This is a story about 2 different personalities that just mesh together. The love scenes were well written and definitely hot. There is angst in the story but it worked out how it was supposed to. Dae didnt want a long term relationship but he just felt so much for Ezra that he couldnt help himself. Ezra was more afraid to let Dae love him because of the past he had. He wasnt sure he was ready to move on but thank goodness he came to his senses. The group of friends Ezra had was a support system for him even though he had a hard time showing it. I thought this was just a great love story. They didnt jump into bed, they worked up to it That only happened when Ezra’s feeling were involved and I loved it. The build up was the best part of the story for me. Congrats Ladies and cant wait to read what is next from you.
