Alpha Book Club Welcomes Author, Anna Zabo!
For the past few years, the Takeover series has ruled my writing life, but now, I find myself taking a pause from it. I say pause, because there are other stories I want to write connected to Sam Anderson’s little consulting firm, so I can’t really say the series is over.
But there’s not going to be another novel in the series for a bit, simply because I need to stretch myself with other genres so I grow…and so I don’t get bored!
Which leads to the question, what am I working on now?
Well, I just turned in a book tentatively called Outside the Lines to Riptide Publishing as part of their Bluewater Bay shared-world series. It’s a polyamorous romance between Ian, a miniature set designer who’s gay, Simon, one of the owners of the local comic books shop who’s bi, and the other owner, Lydia a comics artist—who happens to be married to Simon. It’s light-hearted and fun and also talks a little about non-sexual love, trust between partners, and the need to actually communicate.
One of my personal themes is giving happy-ever-afters to all kinds of people—and not all romantic entanglements are between just two people. There’s also more to love than sex.
I’ve also been working on editing my very first book, Close Quarter, which is currently out of print, in preparation to republish it. (There’s a blurb and the first chapter up on my website). I’ve been meaning to write the sequel for ages now, so that’s also in the works!
Close Quarter is a erotic paranormal romance about a grieving man on a transatlantic luxury ocean cruise who bumps into a fae vampire hunter—who is hunting eight vampires on a boat in the middle of the ocean. [sounds like Jaime’s kind of book]
Too bad he’s a forest and field fae, ‘cause he’s literally out of his element…*pun intended*
Editing Close Quarter gives me a chance to revisit those characters and rediscover all the little details I laid down to prep for the sequel—since it’s been over five years, and I don’t remember those anymore! *sigh*
It’s interesting to see how my writing has grown and how my voice has matured as a writer. I also forgot how these guys get it on. Wow. Mortal and immortal danger and blowjobs. Gotta love it.
I also have a trilogy of rock star romances I want to write, an urban fantasy, and a historical fantasy. So, yeah. More books are coming! Stay tuned!

Anna Zabo writes contemporary and paranormal romance for all colors of the rainbow. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which isn’t nearly as boring as most people think.
With a penchant for suits and ties both on herself and others, she enjoys coffee, tea, good books, and fine wine—as well as the best diner fare and pies made with lemon. Give her a Ruben, and she’s happy.
She fell in with a roving band of romance writers at Seton Hill University, earned and MFA in Writing Popular Fiction and never looked back. She also has a BA in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University.
