They say the only way to go from there is up, but what is “up” when you’re born into someone else’s rock bottom?
At ten, football became my first love. It’s what got me out of the house away from my self-destructive family. My love for football landed me at Las Vegas University with a full ride scholarship, and the orange on my jersey was my favorite color…until my eyes landed on the red dress Fallyn wore the night we met.
At twenty-one, I jumped off the cliff into the unknown the second Fallyn McIntyre danced in my arms at a party. I had the greatest girl in the world and the opportunity to play college ball every Saturday. My rock bottom was looking up, thanks to my two first loves.
Parties, sex, and football—life was perfect. But one drink too many, and my world came crashing down. When I chose pills over my second love, my head told me it was the best decision I ever made. The pills keep me warm and protect me from the distance Fallyn created. Percs don’t judge me. They make me feel alive.
They say the best things come in threes, but one leads to a stable future, one is my salvation, and the other drags me to hell—a hell I’d willingly burn in for eternity…if it weren’t for my second love.
I have read books by this author before, but i have to say I think this one is my favorite. So when I saw this book I just grabbed it not know the full extent of it. This book in my opinion is falling in love with your soulmate, it’s gritty, raw and deals with addiction.
This was a beautiful heartbreaking tale of two people who meet and become each others everything. They fall in love fast and hard. I simply loved Blaze and Fallyn. I was sucked in from the beginning and I couldn’t stop. I don’t think I have ever rooted for two people more than I did For Blaze and Fallyn. One night, that’s all it took for everything in their world to change. They had the perfect life going for them. Then one too many drinks and a cat changed it all. I wanted to smack them both at times.
This book shows the brutality of addiction and hitting rock bottom in more ways than one. We get to see it from all sides. We see it from the addict and the person whom loves them. We see it ourselves from their eyes. Just when you think things will work out between Fallyn and Blaze there is yet another curve ball. Then you find yourself yelling at them to just talk to each other, be open, be honest. I just wanted to smack them both at times. Mostly though, Blaze. He saw how his mother’s life was and didn’t want Fallyn to be like that. He just had to talk to her. Be open and honest with each other. Conclusion are made and lines are drawn. There are twists and turns, push and pull. Oh so damn much push and pull.
This is an emotionally charged book that will drag the reader in and have you hanging on and hoping above all hope it will work out. Does it? You will say no no no. Yes do it. Well in order to find out you need to pick up this book and read it. From the bottom of my heart you will not be sorry.
