Gabe and Josh’s romantic dinner date to celebrate love and life takes a shocking twist when a man who’s presumed dead enters the restaurant. What Gabe learns that night and the days that follow sends the homicide investigation down a road full of sharp twists and dangerous turns.
Josh is finally living the life he’s always wanted. He has a man who loves him just the way he is and an exciting new career opportunity. All of that feels threatened when a mysterious neighbor moves into the neighborhood. Josh is convinced his presence is more than a coincidence and questions what fate has in store for the happy couple.
Can Gabe find the balance between work and love or will his focus on justice put their harmony in jeopardy? Can Josh continue to overcome his insecurities or will they overshadow the beautiful life he’s building with the man he loves?
Dyed and Gone to Heaven is the third book in the Curl Up and Dye Mysteries series. These books were written to be read in order. They contain sexually explicit material and are intended for adults 18 and older.
Each installment just gets better and better. Josh and Gabe (and by extension their friends and family) are more than characters in a story to me. They’ve become voices I look forward to hearing in my head, making my RL day a more fun a joyous one. These two had such a rough start in life and to witness them take a chance with each other, love each other and grow into this dynamic couple is a beautiful thing.
They talk to each other, they make no assumptions and it makes my heart happy to see Josh really come into his own because Gabe helped to restore his self-confidence. Gabe gently prodded Josh to let him in and josh thank goodness eventually did, exposing all his past hurts …Trust. He trusts Gabe. He trusts that Gabe is not ashamed of him nor embarrassed by him.
The romance keeps me coming back for more but aside from the romance the mystery is intriguing as well. This particular angle is something you have to read for yourself, I don’t want to spoil it. I will say it makes me want to know more, which is a good thing since mysteries are not my thing. It takes twists and turns I never expected and there’s more on the horizon 🙂
Last but not least are Josh’s (and Gabe’s) friends. Josh’s friends are absolutely lovable. They’re more than props to be used for comic relief. Whenever they appear on page, they make the scene come alive. They have become almost as important as Josh and Gabe. I love their side stories and am invested in their happiness. I cannot wait to see what becomes of Chaz, Kyle, Meredith, Adrian and now, Jonathon.
This series is such a fun read. Gabe, Josh and the gang have all come a long way. I look forward to every new adventure they embark on. This is another slam dunk by Aimee Nicole Walker! Book four where are you?!
