Over the past year, I’ve been called a lot of things. Slacker. Troublemaker. Party animal.
I thought I was on top of the world. Turns out, I was pretty close to rock bottom.
Now I have a new title: college dropout.
Talk about a reality check.
But I’ve got a chance to redeem myself. One summer to turn things around. Two months to prove I’m not a complete f*ck-up.
It’s time to change.
I want to get back to being one of the good guys.
I have everything I need to live out my dream of being a reclusive songwriter—my guitar, my notebook, and blissful silence.
At least, I did until Jimmy moved in next door.
With tattoos, piercings, and mischievous green eyes, he’s got bad news written all over him. And last time I got with a bad boy, it ended horribly.
Jimmy makes me feel things I shouldn’t feel. Want things I shouldn’t want. He’s a hazard to my carefully laid plans.
But he’s only here for two months.
I can resist him…right?
Although Dropout is the third book in the Good Guys series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Due to language and sexual content, this book is intended for readers 18 and older.
Dropout was a great 5 star read.
The beginning was so shocking, scary and heart racing.
Jimmy has screwed up big time and has flunked out of college. His parents give him a chance to redeem himself by staying and helping his grandmother for the summer. If he does a good job they will cover his next college semester.
Mackenna now 21 has returned and is loving in Tolson, which is near her hometown, she didn’t like living in Nashville and is happy to be back home. She got a great deal as a songwriter just before moving. Of course there are some bad memories that resurface when she runs into an old classmate. What she went through was horrible but she came through a strong survivor.
The way that Jimmy and Mackenna meet is hilarious, her comment had me LOL. As they get to know each other Jimmy comes to realize that she has big trust issues and is determined to get through to her. Will Mackenna let Jimmy in?
In less than a week, I’d gone from recoiling at the idea of being intimate with someone to feeling like I had to physically restrain myself from launching my body at him like a spider monkey.
Things take a twist, when Mackenna starts to get threatening letters, her fear kicks in and Jimmy’s protectiveness kicks in. When did he get out?
I really loved Jimmy’s grandma she was hilarious. There is so much more to this great read. The sex between them was hot and super sweet. Jimmy was so good for Mackenna. Once you get started you won’t want to put it down. This is a great series and I can’t wait to read more.
