She is the everyday girl next-door.
He is shadowed by regret laced in broken memories.
Dark sins of the past have a way of taking hold of your heart and never letting go.
Paisley Asher is the average woman trying to get by in life. Happy and safe in her bubble of ease, she is not prepared to take on the black pit that is one man’s heart.
Trevor ‘Coal’ Blake has a past covered in black. Tainted. He is a dark soul.
In the moment, it is easy to lose sight of what is going on. Looking back, however, little cues were misread … or were they? He lives with more questions than answers.
Chance encounters bring these two together. Is she the angel to pull him from the depths of his personal hell, or is he destined to remain alone and as black as coal?
This is the third book in the Regulators MC. It is a bit dark and violent. Even though it is dark, Oh my gosh I love, love loved Coal. He has a huge heart. The writing, pace, and flow are great. Like a said though this book is a bit darker than I normally read. It’s gruesome, but oh so good. I have read numerous books by this author and have never been let down, this is no different.
This book opens in a heartbreaking way. Trevor “Coal” Blake was betrayed by someone he cared for. Not one single person listened to him. Even through it, he was trying to be respectful and polite. It changed his future and outlook on life. He doesn’t feel like he serves anything and he keeps women at arm’s length. He never wants to question what is real or right again.
Paisley, what can I say about her? She is strong, confident, a little on the quirky side and so very passionate about helping people and doing the right thing. She has her reasons and they make sense later. They inadvertently meet when she bumps into him on his bike. I mean that in the literal sense. She wants to make it right, but he turns her down.
He has a strong desire to help her when needed. Paisley wants to make it right. Since the moment she bumped into him their auras are dark and cloudy. She needs to fix it. They have great chemistry together, although the heat in the novel is lacking a bit. There is some there just not overly done. I can feel their pull and their intense feelings. They just click.
Reading Paisley try and make it right, put a little bit of light-heartedness that is needed for this book. If you like strong alpha men, a strong confident woman, both with huge hearts and so much love to give, go ahead and do it, read this book.
