A phone call in the middle of the night forces Detective Gabriel Wyatt out of his warm bed and into the frigid night to identify the body of a murdered man whose wallet contains Gabe’s business card instead of an ID. That night sets off a chain of events that chills Gabe to his bones when it appears that the killer has set his eyes on a new target – Josh Roman.
Josh comes face-to-face with a painful reminder of his past just when he’s ready to acknowledge that his feelings for Gabe go way beyond liking the man. How can he trust that his feelings for Gabe are right when before he’d always been so wrong?
Will Josh and Gabe finally acknowledge that what they have is something to live for or will they allow danger and doubts to destroy their chance at something amazing?
Book two in the Curl Up and Dye series. Just as good if not better than book one. Make sure you read them in order!
This books picks up straight after book one. A man is found shot dead in his car after hitting a tree and the only thing on him is Gabe’s business card. The mysteries continue in book two and Gabe and his partner Adrian are at the forefront trying to solve them. When suspicious packages and threats start being aimed at Josh it all becomes very personal.
I love Gabe and Josh and reading them developing together and as individuals in this book was something special and so very well written.
The beauty was in the journey as we grew as individuals and as a couple
Their love for each other is so sweet and I loved reading about their relationship progressing. I loved it when they met each other’s parents and I’m glad such an important milestone in any relationship was written so well and not just skated over as can often be the case.
“You matter to me, Josh.” Had I not already loved him then, I would’ve fallen so hard.
Their passion and chemistry was off the charts in this book. Some very hot chapters in this book involving Josh’s stripper pole, Gabe’s classic car ‘Charlotte’ and some very flimsy handcuffs!
Alongside the mystery and love was also the humour. I laughed throughout this book and the funny elements provided som much needed relief from the mystery and serious events happening at the same time.
I knew that dumbass wasn’t laughing at me because I held the keys to his favorite kingdom; a portal of pleasure so thrilling I could put an amusement park out of business.
We get to catch up with the pets in book two and Savage the bird has learned some new phrases, my favourite being ‘Big Daddy loves you!’
Brilliant book and can’t wait to read book three!
