THIRDS Team Leader Sebastian Hobbs and Chief Medical Examiner Hudson Colbourn are as much in love now as they were nearly seven years ago when a tragic event on the job destroyed their relationship. The two drift together only to be pulled apart time and time again. When Hudson draws the interest of dangerous enemies, both within and outside the organization, Seb wants nothing more than to protect the man who still means everything to him.
As life and death events, an uncertain future, and startling truths draw Hudson and Seb to each other yet again, they must make a choice: trust their love and take strength from what they share, or lose what matters most for good this time.
A well deserved 4.5 stars!
After the major changes that took place in book eight involving Dex and Sloan, I wasn’t quite ready to tackle this next installment. Trust me, I was just as curious as the rest of you die hard fans to learn how deep the rabbit hole goes but I wanted some happy after all that heavy in book 8. The title: Darkest Hour conveyed a sense of foreboding. As if the continuing story would be anything but a reprieve. I wanted a calm before the storm not to be plunked down right into the middle of it…so I waited to read this book. And I could kick myself!
Darkest Hour Before The Dawn pushed all my buttons in just the right way. I have. Correction, we have waited FOREVER for Seb and Hudson’s story and it was well worth it! Every epic scenario you can imagine happens in this book.
*If you want to cry for two MC’s separated because of a tragic mistake. This is for you.
*If you agonized for Seb and Hudson book after book and silently begged CC to give these guys an EPIC HEA. This is for you.
**If you want to crave tear-jerking reunions, painful encounters and surprising ( though I guessed), revelations. This is for you.
***If you want to scream and jump up and down all over your freshly made bed because you’re so excited that one of the longest story arches in this series finally reached its epic resolution in a mind-blowing satisfying way. Yes, my fellow fan girls and boys, this book is for you.
I DEVOURED this book within six hours flat. I read every single page, word for word with only one cup of coffee. The family starved and I didn’t care because yes, damn it, Seb and Hudson were worth it.
Well worth the wait! Well worth the tears. Well worth all that anxiety!
