“Who knew a bad boy could mend a broken heart?”
What does a girl do after she discovers her fiancé is a cheating bastard?
In my case, I performed the ritual implosion of all scorned women. I drowned my sorrows in cases of white wine, wallowed in gallons of ice cream, and ignited a bonfire to burn away every damn remnant of his existence. Six months later, the only result was a permanent impression of my ass on the couch.
Adventure Dating my friends dared.
A new and exciting opportunity they said.
I thought they were crazy, but I’m not one to back down from a challenge, so I signed up for the entire four-week deal.
That’s where I saw HIM. Lucas Cummings. He isn’t the classic rich boy I usually end up with. The one whose idea of working up a sweat is waiting for his margarita to be served beachside. Nope. He’s a rough and tough bad boy that all fathers warn their daughters about. You know the type. Cocky swagger, chiseled jaw—the ‘V’.
SOLD, I said to myself, until I discovered he was so much more than just a BOXER.
Right to the heart.
This is a standalone book in The Modern Love World. You do not need to read book one, The Bartender, in order to read The Boxer.
**4.5 Sexy Stars**
I have never had the pleasure of reading this author’s work. I am glad I got the chance to read this one. The flow, wiring and the author’s insight into one of the main character’s mind was awesome. Her friends were great.
From the beginning and I mean the prologue the author pulled me in and her monologue was laugh-out-loud funny. I loved it. It was entertaining. It was easy to read and to follow. The cast of characters remind me of me and some of my friends.
I loved Tahlia. She is smart, witty, no-nonsense strong, confident, and somewhat klutzy. She is still upset about finding out her fiance was cheating on her. So her friends decide she needs to get back out there. They take to a boxing bout for a one night stand and that’s where she meets the funny, adorable, sexy, athletic Lucas Cummings. Lucas, oh by God, he was amazing. I loved him from the pits of my stomach. I want him for me. He was is so swoon worthy and he will give you a toothache. Now they meet like I said at the fight. Then when her friends sign her up for singles adventure dating….well you know. There was comedy, great friends, fun dates and so much hilarity with embarrassing moments to boot. I don’t think I could live one or two of them down. Tahlia took it all in stride, though. Even her most meddling friend Lennon. Lucas and Tahlia are on fire together. They will set you ablaze. They both know what they want and they don’t hide. They are just both so in sync. He totally gets her.
There is some drama as well, not too bad. Like I said funny, fast and fun. I absolutely can’t wait for the next book in this series. I am looking forward to reading about Lennon. I won’t give anything away just go read this book, I highly recommend it.
