— Love is sour like a Sicilian lemon. —
The Family is always right.
The Family doesn’t forget.
The Family pays for blood in blood.
Domenico Acerbi grew up in the shade of Sicilian lemon trees ready to give his life for the Family. Ready to follow orders and exceed expectations. A proud man of honor.
When Seth, the younger son of the Don is kidnapped, it’s Domenico who is sent to get him back. The man he finds though, is not the boy he knew all those years ago. Lazy, annoying, spoiled, and as hot as a Sicilian summer.
Seth Villani wants nothing to do with the mafia. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get a say when the Family pulls him right back into its fold after his mother’s death. Thrown into a den of serpents otherwise known as the Villani Family, Seth has to find a way to navigate in the maze of lies. But when Domenico Acerbi, the most vicious snake of them all, sinks his fangs into Seth, the venom changes into an aphrodisiac that courses through Seth’s veins.
Domenico knows his life is about to change when he gets the order to train Seth up to the role of future Don. Seth isn’t made for it. He isn’t even made. But a man Domenico knows he would never have to fear might just be someone he’s always needed.
If Seth is doomed to follow in his father’s footsteps, he might as well enjoy himself—with the most intoxicating man he’s ever met. Maybe he can even fool himself into believing that Domenico isn’t a handsome sociopath who kills for a living.Themes: Enemies to lovers, mafia, homophobia, assassin, organized crime
Genre: Dark, twisted erotic romance / crime thriller
Erotic content: Explicit gay sex, coercion
WARNING: Adult content. If you are easily offended, this book is not for you.
‘Guns n’ Boys’ is a gritty story of extreme violence, offensive language, abuse, and morally ambiguous protagonists. Behind the morbid facade, there is a splash of inappropriate dark humor, and a love story that will crawl under your skin.
“Should I hang myself on a hook? Cause I feel like a piece of meat.”
Conflict, drama and sex. Could there be a better combination? For me, it was perfect! This series had a lot of conflicting views so I was on the fence initially, but I really love a good enemies-to-lovers plot. Guns N’ Boys: He is Poison was fascinating, entertaining, and super sexy!
Seth Villani escapes his mafia family to make a new life for himself in the United States. It doesn’t go according to plan when he’s captured and drawn back into the fold. This guy is not mafia material in any way, and I loved him all the more for it. Yes, sometimes Seth was a tad whiny like other reviewers mention. Personally, I didn’t mind it.
Then Domenico Acerbi comes in to save him. Irony, because he is Seth’s childhood nemesis. Domenico even tried to kill Seth once. Only the little boy is a man now–one dressed to the nines in a classy suit with an edge of stealth and danger to him. And he just smells so good. Seth has an obsession with this guy’s scent. Someone needs to bottle it, asap!
Seth’s life changes when his father–the current mafia Don–appoints Seth the future Don. A massive surprise for everyone, especially Domenico. Where Seth’s soft and naive, Domenico’s hard and worldly. To say they don’t vibe at first is an understatement. Quite honestly, Dom doesn’t respect Seth in the least. I got frustrated with how often Dom calls Seth a baby or a woman. The ill will is on both sides.
Regardless of any personal feelings, the chemistry is alive and kicking. The sexual need is out of this world! Seth has to keep his preferences for men quiet due to his family, but Domenic truly doesn’t care. He is who he is and goes after what he wants. That happens to be Seth. Throw in submission and their dynamics skyrocket.
I’ve never read a book by this author, but I saw many reviews talking about the heat level, and Guns N’ Boys brought it! While the mafia action was low, the conflict between these two stubborn men more than made up for it. I couldn’t stop reading. I can’t remember the last time I growled when I had to put down a book.
Now, I feel compelled to point out a particular taboo revealed in this story as well. If I had known beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up. (Which would have been a shame, actually, since I ended up loving it!) I’ll put a spoiler tag below.
This book was such a thrill to read! Domenico and Seth’s story continues on so there’s a slight cliffhanger. I’m ready to see what will happen next. There’s no telling with how hot these men burn up the pages!
4 hot conflict stars!
