It was a bad idea from the beginning.
He was my brother’s best friend and the definition of unavailable.
But I didn’t care.
I had loved him for as long as I could remember.
He was worth the risk. He was worth everything.
But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn’t there to catch me.
So I ran.
Four years later, I never expected to see him again.
He was still my brother’s best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever.
He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile.
Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die.
Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t a good girl anymore.
Spectacular 4.5 Star Read
This is the first book I have read by this author. What an unexpectedly great read. I didn’t know what I was going to get. What I got was a great and intense read. Full of laughs and drama passion, you name it it was there. Now, with that said this is the first book in the Good Girls series. This is the story of Livy and Parker. It is told mostly int he present but it shifts to the past on quite a few occasions. It is also both points of view What do you do when the person you love the most hurts you? You run and go to Atlanta.
For a long time, Livy was in love with Parker and he had kept her as his dirty little secret being that he is friends with her brother, Mason. Livy comes off and strong and confident and she typically is except where Mason and Parker are concerned. They are both so overprotective.
Parker, funny, handsome, every girl wants him and he is the tattooed bad boy now. With that said Parker is established and has his life mapped out.
When both brother and Parker still Livy back to Tennessee she is in need of a job and crashes with her brother for a time. Brandon another friends informs Livy that where works there is an opening for a receptionist. I wonder who else works there?
I think my favorite part of the book is the opening chapter. We get a real and true glimpse of Livy and how she has been for the last few years. It’s hot and passionate and with so much feeling. I can feel her heart breaking second by second. With all of that this book had everything, I wanted in it. I loved the characters. They were real and flawed. Livy was just getting by and it hurt me to read her like this. That is what made me love them both. Parker was struggling as well. Parker was torn and so was Livy. I love love love, Brandon. His friendship with Livy and Staci was amazing. He was just a secondary character. Is it sad that I found myself rooting for him in this book? No, it isn’t becaue I am sure it was setting him up for future int his series. The friendship as well between Staci the ballbuster was awesome. She was great too and she told it like it was.
I loved the sparks from the moment that Livy and Parker have from their first meeting in over four years. I loved the growth fro friendship and on. Building trust all over again.
I look forward to more in this series.
