Angelo Giordano and Dylan Hart are more in love than ever, but their reality is far from ideal. With Dylan working in London, and Angelo recovering from chronic illness in Cornwall, they rarely spend more than few nights under the same sky.
Dylan is struggling. Being apart from Angelo is killing him, and he’s at the end of his rope. Angelo can’t live in London anymore, but can Dylan give up his whole life and move to a place that often feels like the end of the world?
As the end of a tough year approaches, they reach a crossroads. Dylan returns to Cornwall for Christmas and Angelo can’t imagine watching him leave again. Can the love that surrounds them on Whisper Farm show them the way home?
4.5 stars- Fantastic Sendoff for Series
Crossroads is not only a holiday novella, but also serves as a lovely cap to Miss Leigh’s Skins series. As such, this is one that’s best read in order.
Established couples’ stories are always a soft spot for me, but when it’s a couple I enjoyed watching come together like Angelo and Dylan, it’s extra special. This novella had a little bit of all the couples and kept me entertained cover to cover.
Picking up after the end of Believe, Crossroads sees Angelo finally well after his most recent severe relapse of ME symptoms. Though the couple is still very much in love and striving to make a long distance relationship work, the separation between Cornwall and London is proving to be more than either wants for their future. Once again the physical chemistry between Dylan and Angelo burned up my kindle, and there’s a particularly scorching scene involving another couple as well. However, it was the emotional connection that really caught my heartstrings in this novella. I loved seeing Angelo and Dylan want to find a solution to make things work well for both of them to ensure they can rest easy in their happily ever after. Of course I also appreciated catching up with the other couples from the series and seeing how the six of them flowed around one another. All these moments plus a bonus surprise tucked in the end made Crossroads a fantastic read for any one who enjoyed the Skins series.
